24h de Tremblant, December 5 to 7th, 2014

The Tremblant 24h of skiing is first and foremost a fundraiser for the benefit of children. A relay race, for teams of 6 to 12 persons, with both competitive and participant categories of racing. It is also a festive and fun-filled weekend in all of Mont-Tremblant. This year, organizers are expecting over 2000 people to participate in this 14th edition, December 5th to 7th 2014.

For those who don’t ski, the 24h Walk & Run is an event for all ages and levels. It is a 24-hour challenge as well, and it takes place on a well-lit and safe track, outdoors in Mont-Tremblant.

The 24h isn’t just about skiing, or walking or running. It is also three days of entertainment, with concerts and activity on the hill all night! This is a very popular and well-attended event, the unofficial kick-off of the ski-season, attended by locals and tourists alike.

The fun kicks off on Friday night, December 5th, with a participants’ party in the pedestrian village of Mont-Tremblant. The following Saturday, December 6th, the day starts early with a participant breakfast at 6:30 am, and then off to the races! The first skier will leave at noon, whereas the walk and run portion of the event starts an hour earlier at 11 am. That same Saturday night there are free outdoor concerts at the base of the mountain from 7 pm until late, and the party picks up in the local bars.

Sunday December 7, the festivities wrap up with the arrival of the walk participants first around 11, and then the skiers end their last run around 12. After all the teams have arrived, a large party breaks out with everyone celebrating this momentous occasion.

The 24h of Tremblant is a great event here in Tremblant, and Tremblant Living has a variety of chalets and condos that are withing walking and driving distances from the excitement.
